Accutron Boxes
Variety of Accutron Boxes
There are a variety of Accutron-type boxes. For most 214 models, the standard box was the black box with an accutron logo on top and undernearth.. For 218 models, the standard was the wooden-looking box, oftentimes with a gold interior. All inner boxes came with a cardboard outer box. Later, 214 models sometimes did come in the usual 218 boxes, too. Early long, rectangular boxes were used for 214 models, usually gold. If it had a bracelet, it usually came in a usual black or brown box, whereas if it had a strap there was a chance it would come in a longer box where the strap could insert into a slot. There are also very thin small boxes, oftentimes used for ladies models and a few mens. There are accuquartz boxes, marked as such, for the later accuquartz models. There is also a real wooden box for some of the better 214 models, such as the 18k Astronaut. Little known fact, this box came with a paper insert claiming that it made a wonderful cigarette box.
